It’s a time of reflection
We can go back. Slip into the darkness
Or change our direction
Moving forward to follow the spark
Of a new life, New light,
Blazing ahead, embark on a journey
Starting today, we can move into the light
Lookin back
Aware of our imperfections
Dis-connections
With best intentions
Hard-to-mention mess ups
Could we have really done that?
Yielding to dark temptations
Lowered expectations
You can still follow your heart
And depart from the past
Lookin back
Lost in my recollection
Introspection
Thought of corrections for some awkward talking
Wish I had never done that.
Said things that I didn’t mean to
Building walls between you
And my hope to make a new start
and depart from the past
If we keep avoiding change
What we get, we keep getting the same old same old same old same old same
